Since 1979, readers and, more recently, online users of CINEMA, Europe’s number one movie magazine, have chosen the winners of the JUPITER Award. The top audience award honoring best films and film and TV stars is presented in twelve categories (national and international), including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor/Actress.
The annual gala ceremony always takes place in Berlin. At this year’s event – the JUPITER Award’s 30th anniversary – CINEMA welcomed about 200 celebrity guests from the media, the national and international film and TV business and from the advertising and music industries.
“The JUPITER Award has been a constant and an authority in German film for over three decades. The award winners are not selected by a jury of doters or bad-tempered critics but by moviegoers themselves. Their vote is unbiased. Those who win this award have truly captured people’s hearts. And that is all you can wish for as an artist,” says CINEMA Editor-in-Chief Artur Jung.
