Investment in the number one media network in reach for women worldwide propels Burda’s digital growth strategy
Hubert Burda Media today announced it is investing in Glam Media Inc., number one in reach for women online, based in New York and in Brisbane, California. The company brings together over 450 online publishers and communities on its platform and markets these target groups to brand-name companies from the consumer goods and lifestyle industries. The Glam Publisher Network reaches more than 44 million users worldwide, most of them female, 25 million of them in the U.S. market, making it one of the fastest-growing global media brands on the Internet.
The holding in Glam Media will be overseen by Christiane zu Salm, who will step into the executive board of Hubert Burda Media as of April 1, and will take place through Burda Research and Development. "With the investment in Glam Media, we are further expanding on our core markets, women and lifestyle, and gaining access to the online market leader in the United States," says Dr. Marcel Reichart, Managing Director of Burda Research and Development. Glam Media presented at the Digital Life Design (DLD) conference in January 2008. The investment amount and details were not disclosed.
