This year's motto is "Map Your Future". The aim is to cast a new look at markets and society after two years of the crisis. The DLD will be taking on core issues relating to digitalization: how digitality is radically changing markets, what impact it has on society and people. Key topics include what new successful content business models look like, how search engines, social networks and real-time communication affect marketing and corporate strategies, and where investors see market opportunities and risks. In addition DLD will be presenting visions and innovations in climate protection and debating the social commitment of corporations and the new image of women in business and society. On top of that the conference will establish a discourse between art and science with regard to these developments.
A highlight on Sunday afternoon will be the the Aenne Burda Award ceremony, which honours a creative and successful businesswoman every year. Hubert Burda presents this award in memoriam of his mother. He is chairing the conference together with the Israeli investor Yossi Vardi. The founders and organisers of the DLD Conference are Steffi Czerny and Marcel Reichart, Directors of DLD Media & Ventures at Hubert Burda Media. More than 15 globally operating companies are associates of the DLD, including Mercedes Benz, Deutsche Post DHL, HP, Tomorrow Focus and Xing. On Tuesday afternoon the Burda Digital Systems' partner conference TES (Technology Enables Success) will be held for the second time.
A social highlight will be the DLD StarNight on Monday evening in Haus der Kunst/P1, at which some 1,000 guests are expected. The star guest is chart-breaker Cheryl Cole, who will be performing songs from her new album "3 Words" at her first appearance in Germany. Last year's live-act at the DLD StarNight was Lady Gaga.
