Christiane zu Salm Resigns

Christiane zu Salm, Board Member Crossmedia, has asked publisher Hubert Burda for the early termination of her contract. From December on, Christiane zu Salm wants to concentrate more strongly on her own entrepreneurial activities again. To this end, she is planning to move to Berlin. “This is a personal decision—a decision we regret, but accept,” commented Hubert Burda. The media manager, who joined Hubert Burda Media’s Management Board in April, will continue to support the company as a consultant for one more year.

Christiane zu Salm’s areas of responsibility will in future be managed as follows: Philipp Welte, Board Member Publishing Houses, will be in charge of all cross-media acitivities as of 1 December 2008. He will share responsibility for Burda Direct Group with Paul-Bernhard Kallen. The Managing Directors of R&D, Marketing & Communications, Marcel Reichart and Stephanie Czerny, will report directly to Hubert Burda again.

There will be further changes in Paul-Bernhard Kallen’s area of responsibility: Fabrizio d’Angelo (36), Head of International Activities, Magazine Division at Arnoldo Mondadori Editore SpA (Milan), will share the management of Burda Holding International (BHI) with Paul-Bernhard Kallen as of 1 December. He succeeds Jan-Gisbert Schultze, who took a position with Acton Capital Partners in August. D’Angelo reports to Paul-Bernhard Kallen, whose area of responsibility also includes Burda Eastern Europe (BEE). This unit will continue to be managed by Winfried Blach.

Fritz Oidtmann (48), Managing Director of Burda subsidiaries Cyberport.de and Computeruniverse.net, will also be in charge of CHIP Holding as of 1 December; he succeeds Jan-Gisbert Schulze. Oidtmann reports to Paul Bernhard Kallen who continues to serve on the Management Board of CHIP Holding.
