Hubert Burda Media in cooperation with Burda Direct and Burda Community hosted “Media meets Wasen” for the third consecutive time last Monday. Stuttgart’s so-called Cannstatt Wasen is one of world’s largest beer festivals, second only to the Munich Oktoberfest.
At Grandl’s Beer Hall, Jürgen Siegloch, Andreas Schilling and Kari Albermann welcomed about 450 business leaders and politicians, sports professionals and creative minds, among them Baden-Wuerttemberg’s State Prime Minister Günther Oettinger and his Cabinet Ministers, Tony Marshall, Walter Scholz, Cherno Jobatey, Carl-Uwe Steeb, Mark Keller, Magdalena Brzeska, Hansi Muller, Georg Thoma, Andrea Berg and Ann-Kathrin Bauknecht.
“I am delighted that so many of you have come here. This shows how much you like Stuttgart and Baden-Wuerttemberg,” the Prime Minister commented. “Thanks to Burda, the Stuttgart Beer Festival is getting increasingly attractive. And what’s more: The Burda event is acquiring a fixed place in the Wasen calendar.”
Jürgen Siegloch, Managing Director of Burda Direct, emphasized the importance of the Baden-Wuerttemberg market for the Burda group. “By launching ‘Media meets Wasen’, we established a networking event for the business world, the arts, the media and sports that is becoming more popular by the year."
As customary, Oettinger and Siegloch tapped the keg. To symbolize the close connection between the media company and the state capital, the Burda representative presented the State Prime Minister with a cuckoo clock designed by Ortenau-based artist Stefan Strumbel.
The afternoon before the event, the Mercedes-Benz Museum offered a tour for the Burda guests, and many of them took advantage of the opportunity. “This event builds on the cooperation we established last year with the BAMBI awards ceremony. And we are going to launch further joint projects in the future,” said Kari Albermann.
