Committed to the fight against Aids: A Germany premiere, Grammy winner Annie Lennox presented the SING campaign at Burda Medien Park publishing houses. In Offenburg she talked to BURDA LIVE MUSIC hosts Ole Tillmann and Alexander Mazza, calling the fight against the acquired immune deficiency syndrome the calling of her life.

“For the rest of my life, I will be dedicating my entire creativity, power and intelligence to this cause,” the 53-year old star said at BURDA LIVE MUSIC, adding that she was planning to use her popularity to boost HIV prevention in Africa, particularly for women and children. Lennox’ goal is to get more information to the people as well as to establish a better health system.

“I am asking my fellow musicians in particular to get involved,” the singer said. She has founded the campaign SING together with 23 other artists. A CD of the same name has been produced by the likes of Madonna, Pink, Shakira, Anastacia and the Sugababes. Proceeds from the sale of the CD will mainly be donated to AIDS prevention projects in South Africa.

On the BURDA LIVE stage, the singer then presented her new songs and top hits, accompanying herself on the piano. Her appearance was followed by a second premiere: Mimi Müller-Westernhagen and her punk band "Battlekat" delivered their first public performance in Germany. And the line-up of BURDA LIVE MUSIC was not half bad either—with Patrick Nuo, shooting star Jenniffer Kae, and DJ John Munich, son of Udo Jürgens who rocked the house.

All stars performed for the good cause, with their only fee being people’s enthusiastic applause. Among the guests were VIPs like the President of Sony BMG International, David Shackleton, EU politician Silvana Koch-Mehrin, Europapark boss Roland Mack, the head of entertainment at national public TV station SWR, Rainer Matheis, and Mega Model Agency’s Ted Linow.
