Hubert Burda Media has also boosted its market position in terms of sales. Sales of more than half a billion periodicals in 2005 (504.9 million copies*) took the company’s market share up to in excess of ten percent* - more than ever before.
This success is all the more impressive when viewed against the current backdrop of a labouring market. The federal association Presse-Grosso, for example, recorded a more than 3% drop in its sales turnover after copy prices for the first three quarters of 2005.
For Hubert Burda Media, on the contrary, stable circulation figures and the successful development of new products have led to 4% growth in turnover on the previous year. In fact, if we include Milchstraße publishing group in these figures, the actual increase falls just short of 17%.
* Data include the publishing group Milchstrasse, but not companies in which Hubert Burda Media holds shares.
